"Thank you for this amazing workshop series!  I learned so much and made new friends too. I can't wait to show off my new vest!" Jane, Newark Museum Vitality Aging Workshop Wearable Arts and Technology

With expert knowledge and a warm, effortless style, Ellen shows how to build a project from start to finish.  All, in a step-by-step fashion. Patrons leave the workshop with a unique, sturdy project and new skills.  Best of all, NO SEWING EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED!
This is NOT an old-fashioned sewing bee - it's more like a cool stitch lounge just for your senior patrons!

You can choose a Single Sunny Morning Sewing Workshop or a 5-Session Sunny Morning Sewing Workshop Series.

Single Session:  We make a fun, functional project and spend the last part of the workshop in a gently guided conversation about the experience over coffee/tea and snacks. The Workshop runs from about 10:30 - 1pm depending on your library's hours.  Materials for journaling are included and are for your patrons to keep.

4-Session Series:  This is 4-weekly sessions (same day and time each week).  Patrons make several projects and the projects may cover more than one session.  Creativity, exploration and discovery are the goals with projects involving painting or coloring, stamping, mixed media in addition to sewing.  Patrons work in community and make new friends over the course of the 4 weeks which includes a discussion and journaling at the conclusion of each session.  The series culminates with an exhibition of the work of your patrons for friends, family, library staff and friends of the library.
